Thorpe Hesley Women’s Institute meet on the first Wednesday of the month for friendship, fun and often food, but also for the opportunity to learn. Recent guest speakers covered many topics from silk painting to Bess of Hardwick; wild life in Peru to DNA; country dancing to container gardening. There is always time to meet and ‘catch up’ with friends during the evening. They also have a craft group which meets on the 3rd Wednesday of the month plus many outings further afield. The WI supports local charities such as Weston park and help to raise funds with various events.

Women of all ages are welcome to join.
